Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finance professional to join the Insolvency Service Executive Leadership Team as Director of Finance Commercial Sustainability and Property.
This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact and lead the teams helping to make sure the insolvency regime works for the UK. You’ll join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping our future.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing Financial Operations: Manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Corporate Guardianship: Accountable and responsible for the overall corporate guardianship of the budgets and protection of the accounting officer.
- Strategic Financial Guidance: Provide strategic financial guidance to the Chief Executive and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Drive financial planning and analysis to support business objectives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal functions and stakeholders to manage risk and ensure sound financial decision-making.
- Leadership of Functions: Lead and support the Finance, Commercial and Sustainability & Property functions, ensuring compliance and optimising processes and achieving deliverables in relation to:
- Agency financial sustainability strategy.
- FCSP-owned targets in the Agency Annual Plan.
- Agency Commercial function, driving VFM and ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Property function ensuring Agency TWP project has appropriate professional support and advice, and that our estate portfolio and associated Facilities Management is managed effectively and professionally.
- Delivering onboarding to the Government Property Agency.
- Delivering of Agency sustainability strategy.
- Agency H&S function.
- Agency physical security function.
- Agency business continuity activities ensuring fit for purpose.
Person specification
To excel in this role, you will possess:
- Professional Qualifications: Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification as required as a Finance Director/ Chief Financial Officer.
- Comprehensive Finance Knowledge: Knowledge and experience across all finance areas including financial control, reporting, assurance, performance in a complex and/or regulated business; with a high level of relevant professional, technical skills.
- Track Record of Success: An outstanding track record in leading strong financial management and delivering value for money.
- Project Leadership: Project leadership experience is highly desirable (but not essential).
- Strategic Direction: Experience of developing and delivering the strategic direction of a complex organisation. An ability to confidently, clearly and credibly influence strategic planning.
- Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and develop a set of functions, promoting operational excellence whilst leading teams through a period of significant change.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Bring strategic analytical rigour coupled with pragmatic problem solving and business insight to address complex financial and operational situations. High capacity to drive innovative approaches that can be implemented.
- Relationship Building: Successfully built and maintained broad diverse networks and relationships, using communication and collaboration skills to challenge assumptions, negotiate and influence the direction in complex, ambiguous regulated environments.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
