World Fuel Services’ Sustainability Operations capability supports nine ISCC- and RSB- certified trading teams across our global aviation, marine and land fuels businesses to ensure their compliance with applicable laws and guidelines governing the distribution of sustainable products. The Sustainable Fuels Analyst’s responsibilities will be split between advising commercial teams about different sustainability requirements when trading sustainable products and maintaining our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal requirements, industry guidelines and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a detailed, up-to-date understanding of sustainability compliance requirements and criteria e.g. Renewable Energy Directive, ICAO CORSIA and other national criteria (UK, Sweden, Norway, etc.)
  • Assessing how the business manages changes to sustainability compliance, flagging key risks to the Sustainable Fuels Advisor to determine clear next steps and advise commercial teams accordingl
  • Leading World Fuel’s membership of ISCC and RSB and our engagement strategy within these organisations, in particular the development of new mass balancing rules
  • Updating our management system, working alongside other team members to continuously improve and optimise existing processes, tools, training and procedures in a complex and uncertain policy environment
  • Managing the implementation of biofuel transaction databases with a particular focus on migrating transactions and ways-of-working onto the Union Database for Biofuels (UDB)

 

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in sustainability- compliance/operations for a fuels company, regulator, certification scheme, auditor or similar organisation
  • A good understanding of RED2 or CORSIA sustainability criteria or ISCC and RSB guidelines
  • Excellent attention to detail, with an ability to critically evaluate existing ways of working to improve efficiency and resolve compliance risks
  • Degree or prior experience in sustainability, compliance or supply chain management is desirable
