Sustainability Reporting & Performance (ESG) Analyst
About the role:
Equinix, the world’s leading digital infrastructure company, is seeking a dynamic and purpose-driven sustainability professional for the position of Sustainability Reporting and Performance Analyst. In this pivotal role, you will lead Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and continuous improvement initiatives that enable us to meet both customer and regulatory requirements on a global scale. This position is part of the Equinix Sustainability Program Office and reports directly to the Global Director for Sustainability Reporting and Performance. This is a unique opportunity to drive responsible business practices across our operations and value chain.
You will collaborate with our regulatory and public policy teams, as well as Compliance, Accounting, Finance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Procurement, Operations, and Design & Construction teams. Responsibilities:
Planning
- Plan and prepare the business for compliance with mandatory ESG disclosure requirements globally, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Develop strategic roadmaps for long-term ESG initiatives, aligning with corporate goals and industry standards.
Internal Reporting
- Develop and implement internal tracking and reporting mechanisms to ensure senior leadership is regularly updated on progress regarding ESG strategy.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and insights that can inform future ESG initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Develop and implement mechanisms to ensure efficient collaboration across key internal stakeholders required to collect, substantiate, and approve data for ESG external reporting.
- Provide ESG subject matter expertise and direction to other Equinix teams, facilitating knowledge sharing and alignment on ESG objectives.
Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify and evaluate new ESG opportunities that can drive innovation and competitive advantage for Equinix, beyond minimum compliance.
Communication and Engagement
- Prepare clear and compelling ESG reports and presentations for various internal and external audiences, including senior leadership and investors.
- Lead ESG training sessions and workshops to enhance internal awareness and engagement.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience, preferably in sustainability and/or project management.
- Some knowledge of the ESG regulatory landscape and how it applies to a company like Equinix is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, environmental science, or a related field required.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and workload effectively.
- Project management certifications such as Prince2 Foundation or Six Sigma are a plus.
- Proficiency in PowerBI or equivalent data analytics tools is a plus.
- Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, or TCFD is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
