Our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team are seeking an experienced sustainability professional to oversee/implement programs and policies for the organization and support clients in meeting their sustainability targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of environmental sustainability programs, policies, and strategies for PPD.
  • Align PPD programs, policies and strategies with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate goals and approaches.
  • Collaborate with PPD divisions to identify the best approaches for each division to meet its targets.
  • Coordinate PPD Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, waste and water internal reporting.
  • Work with suppliers to reduce Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Identify methods for estimating carbon emissions from existing data sources.
  • Partner with data professionals to visualize progress.
  • Meet with customers to determine how PPD can support their sustainability targets.
  • Develops sustainability reports, presentations and proposals to support business development.
  • Collaborates with other industry stakeholders to develop common approaches.
  • Create and execute a communication and employee engagement plan for sustainability.
  • Stay informed about changes in environmental legislation and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Support sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, CDP, and EcoVadis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong data analysis and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Corporate experience in environmental sustainability program management.
  • Experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO), experience supporting clinical trials and/or experience supporting laboratories is a plus.
