- Champion long-term environmental performance and social value creation across all programme activities.
Operational Delivery
- Oversee delivery of sustainability metrics, including carbon reduction, biodiversity enhancement and delivery efficiency.
- Ensure sustainability is embedded into engineering design, and also site operations, supply chain engagement, procurement frameworks, and reporting processes.
- Work with colleagues to achieve net zero goals, and support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001.
- Support lifecycle assessments (LCA), carbon literacy training, and circular economy principles across the programme, and implementation of PAS 2080.
Collaboration & Engagement
- Act as a key advisor and influencer to senior leaders, delivery partners, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to raise awareness, build capability, and enhance sustainability culture.
- Share best practice and insights across the portfolio from nationally significant infrastructure contexts.
Monitoring & Assurance
- Track, analyse and report on progress against ESG goals, ensuring clarity, credibility, and compliance.
- Lead or facilitate sustainability audits and reviews across the project portfolio and supply chain.
- Continuously evolve and adapt sustainability plans to align with changing environmental standards, policies, and programme demands.
