About the job: To support the Strategic Product Development & Sustainability team with the continued delivery of the sustainability framework for the Club; co-ordinating the reporting of all of the Club’s Sustainable activities in a clear and concise way enabling the Club to tell its story in a clear and compelling way.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities

  • Manage the day to day operation of the Club’s Accreditation scheme, being the go to person for the site network and EG staff, owning the 3rd party relationship with any external provider (currently Green Tourism).
  • Ensure accuracy of the content and gather data from across the Club to support the accreditation and inspection process.
  • Identify opportunities for improving working processes or sharing best practice which could be introduced or modified to positively contribute to the Club’s sustainability agenda and help achieve or improve the accreditation ratings.
  • Support the development of the Club’s Environmental Strategy and associated policies.
  • Work with the team and business on the delivery of Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme and carbon reporting.
  • Lead the Sustainability Champion’s group, engaging them and delivering initiatives on the 4 core themes of: Waste management and recycling, water and energy conservation, sustainable working environment and biodiversity and green spaces.
  • Liaise with external partners/consultants as required and provide summaries of key proposals.
  • Work alongside the Strategic Product Development Manager managing new innovations and projects for the sites network and head office as required.
  • Manage the Sustainability mail box ensuring all queries are answered in a timely manner.
  • Manage the Club’s Online Green community ensuring it is interactive and inspiring.
  • Work with the marketing team to tell the Sustainability story to the membership and wider industry.
  • Work with the internal communications team to tell the Sustainability story to our staff.
  • Work with the Insight and Planning manager to gain feedback from members on key Sustainability initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of legislative and environmental developments.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Ideally (but not essential) graduate-level education.
  • Experience in environmental, sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or similar role.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental issues and open to creative, practical ideas.
  • Product development experience.
  • Project management skills (or strong desire to learn).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident communicator with internal and external audiences, including strong presentation skills.
  • Responsibility to manage your own workload and work under your own initiative.
  • Good level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Discretion and sensitivity within a working environment.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays required.
