Overview

As part of our continued support to our customer based in Bristol, we are seeking a highly organized and motivated UK Sustainability & Environment Regulations Manager to join our proactive and innovative team. This is a contract role, the initial duration is 6 months.

The role will require someone with sustainability and strong project management/stakeholder management skills.

The successful applicant will be based on site at the customers site in Bristol and will be required to visit their other facilities in the UK and in France (max. 2 or 3 times per year). The rate is negotiable based on seniority, experience, etc. Candidates will have extensive ISO14001 experience.

Responsibilities

  • R&O management reporting and support with outcomes of identification sessions
  • ISO14001 EMS development / process improvements and Audit findings closure support
  • support organisation of sessions like Climate R&O Site Assessments
  • development of activities to decarbonise – like for example energy model for site
  • Support volunteer teams in their activities: Sustainable Commuting, Biodiversity etc
  • Support supply chain initiatives – e.g. waste reduction
  • Support introduction of sustainable activities in defence and space
  • Analysis of regulations and trends in the UK, including use and review of tools and monitoring services contracted by the customer, gathering of data required to ensure compliance
  • Analysis of applicability of regulations to the customer and preparation of roadmap to compliance and prepare any required information to support any advocacy to be performed with local and national relevant authorities (DEFRA, HSE, BEIS, DfT, etc)
  • Preparation of briefs, presentations and communication of regulatory/trends inputs in the UK, with local teams and support reviews with the central GSR team
  • Coordination of interfaces internal stakeholders as required (Facilities management, Environment, Health and Safety, department
  • Monitoring, consolidating and reporting of Risk and Opportunities in the UK to feed the Sustainability & Environment Risks & Opps picture.

Experience

  • Understanding of UK Sustainability & Environment regulatory system and more globally S&E issues and how the regulatory system operates in practice
  • Demonstrate ability to monitor, assess, advocate for regulatory evolutions for the UK/EU and support compliance roadmap
  • Have working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, ISO 14001 certification and related sustainability management systems
