Overview
THG has recently published its 2030 sustainability Strategy – THG x Planet Earth, with the long-term goal of leaving the world better than we found it by utilising our unique capacity for innovation and incorporating sustainability into every decision we make. This position plays an important role and will be responsible for driving sustainability and ethical practices across the supply chain. Additionally, this role will require effective data management and reporting, with primary focus on the social responsibility. The candidate will report to the Head of Supply Chain Sustainability.
This is a highly visible role across the group and will be one of the experts on human rights and applying best practices across social and environmental across the supply chain, and acting as a business partner for our Divisions and Functional senior partners. You will be a self-starter, with excellent communication and organisation skills, and a passion for driving responsible and sustainable business.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with key THG stakeholders including: Procurement, Buyers, supply chain, and Sustainability teams to drive compliance and, track and report on progress with regards to the implementation of THG’s Supply Chain Standards and sustainability programme.
- Work with Head of Supply Chain Sustainability and other stakeholders to gain visibility into supply chain risk and Sustainability performance with initiatives around climate, water, waste, environment, and human rights.
- Maintain internal trackers regarding social audit and corrective action progress.
- Regularly communicate audit results, audit rating corrective action timelines to internal business teams, or suppliers.
- Produce reports to highlight underperforming suppliers.
- Engage with business stakeholders in ensuring all suppliers are signed up to SEDEX with reporting on Non-conformance.
- SEDEX management including SAQ completion, audit upload, lapsed memberships and CAP closure.
- Support business stakeholders and THG suppliers in an effort to drive transparency and supply chain profiling / mapping.
- Work with our technical and quality teams to schedule 3rd party / internal audit at high-risk suppliers.
- Conduct regular risk assessment of the supply chain by supporting with development of supplier risk index and tiering policy.
- Support Group Sustainability Team and the Head of Supply Chain Sustainability in the timely on-boarding of new suppliers, in line with responsible sourcing policies.
- Conduct various administrative tasks such as diary management, Supplier communications, project coordination, Scheduling meetings, and support with document / policy writing for THG supplier manuals.
Requirements:
- Experience working on sustainability and Ethical trade initiatives with a supply chain.
- Experience of working with retailers, Brands either Highstreet, supermarket or E-commerce.
- Understand importance of ESG, Human rights, Operation controls and measures across an international supply chain.
- Previous experience working with SEDEX and understanding of Ethical audit programmes.
- Experience in supply chain and operations to execute programs
- A team player who understands team objectives and workflow processes and helps others learn by distilling complex ideas into easily understood concepts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and manage different teams to drive effective outcomes.
- Ability and confidence to work with and influencer senior stakeholders.
- Excellent project and time management skills and can operate in an environment of high ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail as well as strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Highly numerate with experience analysing data.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office to a high standard, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- An analytical mind able to consider risk vs commercial benefits.
