Join us as a Supply Chain Operations & Sustainability Lead
- We’ll look to you to own the central platforms and services as well as the systems and processes for the Supply Chain function, driving a culture of continuous improvement across the estate
- You’ll be responsible for the Supply Chain’s sustainability agenda, working with our supplier base and souring teams to contribute to NatWest’s wider sustainability agenda

What you’ll do
In this key role, we’ll look to you to drive the system’s architecture, incorporating the latest technologies and integrating various systems. As such, you’ll significantly improve the effectiveness of the Supply Chain function and ensure the data quality of all data originating from it.
You’ll own the sustainability agenda for the Supply Chain function which will involve supporting the bank’s climate goals and understanding new legislation regarding modern slavery, human rights and how they impact supply chains. You’ll also be responsible for driving higher supplier sustainability scores through preferred platforms such as EcoVadis.
You’ll provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals in the UK and India, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and delivering against your strategies for the function. In doing so, you’ll drive a culture of continuous improvement across the department, identifying and executing opportunities to reduce, automate, and centralise activities to improve efficiency.
You’ll also:
- Own the procurement processes across the bank, ensuring they are designed to manage risk while providing a smooth customer journey through the procurement cycle
- Deliver scalable, integrated systems to support the Supply Chain team in day-to-day activities
- Design and produce management information to enable the effective management of the Supply Chain function
- Drive the delivery of supplier inclusion on a preferred Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) platform such as EcoVadis and build longer term plans to include ESG into supplier selection
- Manage the investment process for the function to continually improve the underlying estate and operational capability of the team
The skills you’ll need
We’re on the lookout for a strategic thinker who can combine vision with application and who has the ability to convert strategy into implementation. You’ll have a proven track record in people leadership and delivery within a continuous improvement driven environment.
You’ll also have:
- Strong programme and change delivery experience, including leading systems change in large, complex environments
- Significant experience of influencing at an executive level
- A proven ability to build and develop strong relationships with internal customers and other key stakeholders
- A strong understanding of the supply chain function including best practices in processes and systems
- The ability to match relevant elements to our current and future requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of operations professionals
