Then we have an exciting opportunity to join a world leading research team focused on transforming aviation towards a sustainable and climate neutral future.

Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:

The National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT) is looking for post-doctoral researchers with experience of combusting computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to support the design and development of new hydrogen combustion systems.

  • The project aims to investigate several key areas such as:
  • Establishing a robust numerical methodology,
  • Developing and numerically analysing candidate designs,
  • Providing assistance prior to and during testing in our reacting flow facilities.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of advanced numerical methods up to PhD level.
  • Experience of, for example, use of large eddy simulations, solving of chemistry using an FGM approach.

We will also be assessing combustion performance on our test facilities so there will be opportunities for gaining experience in experimental methods. Any prior knowledge in this area (although not essential) would be advantageous.
