Overview

This role has global responsibility for the creation and execution of the Real Estate Sustainability strategy across the portfolio. Ericsson’s target is to be Net Zero in its own operations by 2030. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and delivering a strategy that meets the Real Estate elements of Ericsson’s Sustainability strategy to reduce its RE environmental footprint. It is part of the Global Workplace Operations leadership team.

What you will do

You will develop a strategy to achieve Ericsson’s sustainability and energy reduction objectives in relation to the portfolio acquisition, design and fitout, and its operation:

  • Transform current strategies to reduce carbon footprint, energy & water consumption, composting and landfill created by the Real Estate portfolio.
  • Create robust performance criteria to manage progress towards these objectives and be responsible for their delivery. Develop road map of short and long term sustainability goals to achieve our set out targets.
  • Ensure Ericsson is in compliance with all banned and restricted materials, has a phase out plan in place.
  • Own Real Estate sustainability process and secure data collection approach & data quality improvements for the sustainability related metrics (energy, water, waste)
  • Work to implement a program to look for sustainability incentives and rebate programs available throughout the different regions.
  • Support Ericsson’s Sustainability & CR function including providing and managing RE data for external reporting of performance.
  • Overhaul the existing framework of requirements used in the acquisition, design and fit out of premises to drive progress towards Ericsson’s Net Zero target.
  • Lead the improvements and deployment of sustainability related digital solutions that optimise building operations and enable user insight of their choices in the workplace.
  • Work with the Geographic RE units to innovate local solutions, drive the execution and activate user engagement in the wider agenda.
  • Be the sustainability advocate for and within the RE organisation and train RE employees in this topic.•    The successful candidate will be passionate about the environment, be a great communicator, inspiring your team and partners to achieve innovative solutions and be well organized.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with Real Estate’s Portfolio & Project Management, Workplace Community & Innovation, and Strategy, Digitalization & Transformation units.
  • Developing set of standards and requirements working in partnership with our Leasing Teams for future locations or renewals.

The preferred location for the role is Stockholm (Sweden) or London (UK), but other locations will be considered.

The skills you bring:

  • Have a BA, BSc, MSC, or similar.
  • Be a sustainability subject matter expert, with 5 years’ experience of creating and delivering Sustainability solutions for offices and data centre environments.
  • Have industry knowledge and experience of Power Purchase Agreements, design measures and developement
  • Have industry knowledge and experience in implementing International Renewable Energy Certificates across a global geography.
  • Experience in transitioning energy contracts from Brown energy to Green energy across a global geography.
  • Have a passion for sustainable solutions that range from behavioural changes to material investment to meet to our objectives.
  • Have an inspiring leadership style, natural ability to communicate and influence colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Be a ground-breaking and innovative thinker.
  • Exhibit strong integrity in business activities.
  • Exhibit Change & Improvement Leadership Skills.
  • Be numerate and literate and able to articulate a Business Case.
