Job Purpose:
The Project Manager Sustainability EMEA will apply practical knowledge of sustainability and real estate, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. They will work independently with limited supervision on complex problems, focusing on countries within the EMEA region that currently lack sustainability expertise.
Key Tasks:
- Enable the rollout of sustainable technologies including Solar PV, heat pumps, battery storage, LED lighting, building management systems, and Smart meter.
- Ensure delivery of approved projects and coordinate with local Corporate Real Estate (CRE) for construction supervision and preparation (pre-inspections, on-site coordination, handover to DHL and into Facility Management).
- Provide regional support for DHL Group’s journey towards Carbon Neutral buildings.
- Advise on appropriate technologies with strategic help from a central team and translate strategy into measurable actions for CRE colleagues and Business units.
- Perform Carbon Neutral building site audits and coordinate and manage external energy consultants for deeper technology analysis.
- Maintain local market knowledge on topics such as subsidies, regulations, etc.
- Translate technical requirements and analysis into cost estimations, supporting business case approvals and negotiation with landlords for Carbon Neutral Building (CNB) aspects.
- Support the tender process for technical specifications and decide on the right technical solution considering Total Cost of Ownership and other factors.
- Prepare documents and comparisons to achieve carbon neutrality for executive audiences.
- Drive technical pilots and innovation on new products to support carbon neutrality and manage complex analyses of systems.
- Hand over completed projects to operations and Facility Management teams.
- Negotiate complex Power purchase agreements or lease agreements for technical systems with landlords, funds, and other companies.
- Provide guidance on building specifications.
- Support the tender process for framework contracts with relevant companies to implement sustainable technologies.
- Run training and information sessions for the CRE EMEA community on the latest changes regarding Carbon Neutral Buildings and building technologies.
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in real estate, engineering, or sustainability.
Experience Level: 5+ years of relevant real estate experience.
