Overview
The principle deliverables will be to provide sustainability strategy delivery and implementation, data, reporting and ESG advisory to our clients’ real estate portfolios, working with clients and colleagues to lead on strategic deliverables and grow strong client relationships.
The successful candidate should have a holistic knowledge of sustainability and wider environmental, social and governance issues for both the built environment and broader corporate contexts.
This should ideally include experience in sustainability strategy, policy, reporting, data management, net zero, GHG accounting, Scope 3, environmental management, waste initiatives, ISO management systems, behaviour change, sustainable procurement, and sustainability compliance.
An experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant is required to provide services including but not limited to;
• Lead and drive sustainability consultancy growth with a broad base of investor and occupier clients.
• Provide sustainability data, reporting and broader ESG expertise across the full range of Savills skill lines including occupier, investor and sector specific markets.
• Manage, drive, coordinate and champion new innovations in sustainability projects which may include sustainability reporting, data management, template development, process improvements, quality and accuracy improvements etc.
• Support clients to develop bespoke sustainability strategies, data management frameworks, GHG accounting and sustainability reports.
• Provide general sustainability support to clients which may include strategic sustainability advice, environmental legislation and compliance audits, sustainability reporting & disclosure, tenant engagement, ISO14001 & ISO50001, EPC/EPC Plus & MEES risk review, WELL Standard / wider Health & Wellbeing, waste management etc.
• Act as point of contact and project interface for external consultancy teams managing Social Value and Local Needs Assessments, Pollution Monitoring, Energy Auditing, Waste services, certifications and air quality assessment.
• Deliver training materials, client engagement and communications in support of behaviour change.
• Communicate through formal presentations and informal interactions with client and Savills staff.
• Contribute to the maintenance, development, communication and implementation of sustainability standards within the Savills Sustainability team.
• Oversee the collation and analysis of sustainability data, and provide quality assurance where required.
• Have experience at delivering both financial and technical management of key fee earning services.
• Business development activities including pitching, responding to RFPs and new business development meetings.
• Contribute to both financial and technical management of key fee earning services.
• Produce written reports to a high standard for the attention of our clients.
• Produce marketing and case study material from team successes.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the Savills services, and where appropriate provide input to adapt and enhance processes to improve efficiency, quality and innovation.
The successful candidate should have a holistic knowledge of sustainability. In addition the candidate will have a strong understanding of emerging areas in sustainability such as wellbeing, social value and climate resilience.

Required
• Bachelor degree in Sustainability, Energy Management, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent.
• At least 6 years’ experience within the Sustainability field
• Completely IT literate with high level of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
• Experience of working with sustainability/ESG data, systems and reporting.
• Technical knowledge of Sustainability Reporting Standards, Frameworks and Benchmarks, such as GRESB, GHG Protocol, Scope 3 Guidance, SECR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, ISSB, CSRD, GRI, CDP and SBTi.
Desired
• Masters degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Energy Management, or equivalent.
• Professional qualification such as IEMA, Energy Institute (EI), CIBSE or similar.
• Knowledge and experience of applying sustainability in the property sector.
• Good working knowledge of the Better Buildings Partnership’s Managing Agents Toolkits, the UK Green Building Council and other industry standards.
