Overview

As part of the FoodFutures Where The Wildings Are! project, LESS has an exciting opportunity for someone who is experienced in delivering outdoor learning activities to children and young people, and an interest in permaculture or gardening, to become an Outdoor Learning Officer planning and delivering the PermaWarriors Club. PermaWarriors is a new 3 year program of permaculture, gardening and nature-based after-school clubs and holiday clubs across school communities in the Lancaster and Morecambe area, inspiring children and their families to develop a connection to their local environment.

The PermaWarriors Club is part of the Where The Wildings Are! project which aims to tackle food insecurity, climate change and biodiversity loss through an ambitious programme of edible landscaping, rewilding and food growing through permaculture within the grounds of all educational establishments across the district. There are currently 15 schools involved in the project, with more joining in September 2024. We are now looking to expand our team to increase the opportunities available for children to get outside, learn new skills and develop their understanding of the interconnectedness of humans and nature.
