We are seeking an experienced Marketing Communications (Marcomms) Manager who can champion the newly formed NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Sustainable Innovation, as well as growing awareness of and building engagement with our Trust-wide sustainability programme.

The HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) based in Exeter, is one of 14 newly established research centres across England with the objective of working with commercial organisations, researchers, and clinical staff to drive innovation in health technology with a particular focus on sustainability. It is hosted by the Royal Devon and delivered in partnership with the University of Exeter.

The NHS has a goal to become the first national Healthcare system to achieve net zero carbon and the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has the ambition and plans in place to help make this a reality by 2040. This is your opportunity to be part of the change.

About the Role

You will be an experienced, Senior Marcomms Manager with a passion for analysis, understanding a diverse audience, and creating compelling communications that deliver results. You will be equally comfortable working across partnerships and multiple stakeholder groups as you are independently under your own volition. There is plenty of autonomy in this role, but you will also be well supported by a wider network of friendly and experienced marketing and communications professionals. Experience of the NPD process from ideation to commercialisation would be an advantage.

The role also requires passion, enthusiasm, knowledge of net-zero targets, and the wider sustainability agenda including; biodiversity, changing models of care, active travel, and ethical procurement. The role will be a touchstone for non-technical stakeholders starting their sustainability journey.

Finally, in addition to analysis and planning, there is also a strong emphasis on delivery and you will need a ‘hands-on’ approach. You can expect to be writing web copy, press releases, social media, email marketing campaigns, and creating video or exhibition materials with our in-house designer, web manager, and press office. We think this makes the role even more appealing, and if you feel the same, then do please apply today.
