Overview

As our new Head of Sustainability, based at Holiday House in Leeds City Centre you will report to the Sustainability and Business Development Director. This broad and varied role will cover both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, being responsible for the delivery of the  sustainability strategy goals and targets and working towards finding innovative and economical ways to positively impact the environment.

What will you do in the role?  

The day-to-day elements of the role are geared towards helping us lead the way on the decarbonisation of the aviation sector, implement our decarbonisation flight path and assisting our adoption of new technologies and energy sources, using sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). The main areas of focus are:

  • Explaining and promoting the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays sustainability strategy and finding appropriate ways to work with industry and wider media outlets, forming appropriate narratives for each.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the business, supply chain partners, colleagues at all levels, customers and local communities across all jurisdictions that we operate in, maintaining ongoing, up to date and in-depth understanding of relevant legislation as well as identifying opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce the use of plastic and other harmful products wherever possible and maximise the amount of recyclable waste.
  • Promote and safeguard the Company’s brand and reputation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Sustainability professionals, ensuring optimal performance and prioritisation of personal development.

 

What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?  

You will have significant experience in ESG, sustainability and/or corporate social responsibility-focused communication efforts or environmental science. You will also:

  • Have strong influencing and interpersonal skills as well as strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be commercially astute and used to setting and managing a budget.
  • Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is a fast-moving business and therefore you must be pro-active, resilient, energetic and flexible with a commitment to delivery.
  • You’ll be used to presenting to senior stakeholders and have stature, gravitas, determination and the highest level of integrity.
  • Be solutions driven and relish the opportunity to stretch yourself, being excited at the prospect of uncertain environments.
  • Have a passion for both the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays brands.
