Our work matters to millions. It will matter to you too. Join our Power T&D team as a Environmental Sustainability Coordinator – Aberdeen and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.
In this role, you will provide direction, support and guidance to our project teams on all aspects of hands-on environmental management, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement.
You will support site-based project design construction controls and mitigations, sustainability opportunities and deliver against client led contractual requirements and BBPTD tactical aspects to achieve our strategic goals. A key part of the role will be engagement with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and environmental authorities.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the team with creation of Best Practice/Case Studies
- Support the team with preparation and submission of consents and permits.
- Support the CCS on site by attending training provided by CCS and supporting with evidence gathering for monitor visits (where applicable)
- Understand and support completion of BMS documentation.
- Support the regular site inspections and associated reporting.
- Undertake environmental monitoring and testing.
- Support the team with Sustainability Portal reporting and evidence requirements
- Delivering operative environmental training
- Review Sustainability Portal reporting and evidence requirements to identify improvement areas
Who we’re looking for
- Full driving license and flexibility to travel
- Professional Membership level of a relevant professional body (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and competence.
- Good knowledge of environment management with the relevant experience
- Experience of working in a construction environment.
- Practical experience and sound knowledge of environmental statutory requirements, including environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, environmental licencing and consent applications and regulation.
- Oversee, develop and direct Graduate ES roles across your portfolio.
- Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome.
- Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills.
- Interpreting and managing data via databases, consistent record keeping and writing detailed reports.
- Be required to visit worksites and offices across Scotland and attend occasional ES meetings across the UK.
- Literate in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to deputise for more senior role (e.g. Advisor)
