We are now looking for a Data Reporting Senior Specialist to join our sustainability team, based in our EMEA HQ, to be responsible for managing and coordinating all sustainability data management and reporting requirements across the region in line with Canon Inc. internal frameworks, EU regulations, frameworks and standards (e.g. CSRD/CSDDD), and to enable compliance with all relevant chemical and environmental regulations (e.g. EPR, SCIP, PCN).

You will focus on the provision and delivery of a practical and robust approach to managing business data needs and requirements, whilst also identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management and reporting systems and processes.

As Sustainability Data Reporting Senior Specialist you will cover the following tasks:

  • Sustainability data management – responsible for the management and coordination of all sustainability data collation/analysis/ reporting/submission requirements across EMEA in line with Canon Inc. internal requirements (including Bills of Materials, energy consumption, manufacturing and environmental impacts associated with purchase and use of devices), EU regulations and standards including CSRD (the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and other reporting frameworks as relevant.
  • Responsible for ensuring all relevant Technical Documentation such as Declarations of Conformity (DoC), test reports, SDS, and ECO Declarations is published and made available as required on the intranet, internal database systems and on all external websites as required to meet all legal and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate on behalf of the Sustainability Function the development, implementation and management of sustainability data reporting platforms/systems (or relevant aspects/modules thereof) to optimise reporting outcomes and to meet business and regulatory requirements including CSRD.
  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) – Provide overall coordination and management of methodologies, calculation tools and reporting frameworks for EPR reporting across Canon EMEA. Ensure reporting and audit obligations are met whilst identifying opportunities to improve data capture and accuracy. Act as key point of contact with National Sales Organisations (NSO) teams and external consultants managing communication and relationships with authorities and schemes in jurisdictions across EMEA as appropriate.
  • Provide business support as required to ensure compliance with all relevant Chemical Regulation reporting requirements (e.g. REACH/F-Gas), including import declarations, Poison Centre Notifications, reporting to ECHA, management of SCIP Database, F-Gas reporting and others as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring all relevant Technical Documentation such as Declarations of Conformity (DoC), test reports, SDS, and ECO Declarations is published and made available as required on the intranet, internal databases systems and external websites to meet legal and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the Sustainability SharePoint site, sustainability mailbox, sustainability website & shared drives, Email and paper/electronic filing.
  • Ensuring provision of financial administrative support to the HQ team, including raising Purchase Orders, invoice processing, etc.
  • As required develop and deliver training and awareness to ensure data & reporting related requirements and obligations are well communicated and understood across EMEA Sustainability team’s activities.

You will need

The ideal candidate has:

  • Evidence of competency in database management and administration, systems and processes;
  • Experience working with sensitive and highly confidential information – must have discretion and integrity;
  • Preferred experience of pan-European operation;
  • Highly organised and efficient with the ability to produce high-calibre work and perform well under pressure;
  • Proactive, independent and able to work on own initiative;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Competency in relevant computer systems & packages including MS Office & Notes databases;
  • Strong service and delivery ethic, flexible and effective team worker.

Professional qualification (degree or equivalent level qualification in sustainability/environmental compliance or related topic) with relevant experience or qualified by experience (QBE) would be beneficial but not essential.

In addition to a salary of between £43,000 – £52,000 you’ll be eligible for a performance-based bonus of 10%.
