Overview
You will work collaboratively with our investment professionals to integrate sustainability considerations into our investment process including engaging with our investee companies on ESG issues. In this capacity you will work across the IM platform globally, with an initial focus our UK and European based investment teams. You will contribute to the development of Fidelity’s global sustainable investment frameworks and solutions. You will also work with client-facing teams to evidence the ESG integration process to our clients and consultants, particularly those based in the UK and Europe, acting as an ESG spokesperson both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy and Products
- Collaborate with Fidelity analysts and portfolio managers to implement sustainability solutions for our clients including: 1) Contribute to the development of Fidelity’s sustainable investment data sets, policies and frameworks; 2) Work with internal and external stakeholders on developing and maintaining client investment solutions.
- Build a thorough understanding of Fidelity’s overall strategies and objectives and manage relationships with internal stakeholders on all aspects of ESG and sustainability
- Develop mutually productive relationships with individuals from various parts of the Fidelity complex, including investment management teams, legal and compliance, product development, investment directors, institutional, sales & marketing and operations
- Maintain thorough understanding of current ESG themes and use market knowledge to create thought leadership and thematic articles for an external audience
Client interaction
- Clearly articulate Fidelity’s ESG strategy and investment-relevant sustainability issues to clients, prospects and consultants
- Prepare written presentations, material and analysis as required in order to demonstrate our integration approach
- Produce sustainability related reports and other materials for client consumption as required by client-facing teams
- Work collaboratively with clients to identify their sustainability ambition, investment needs and co-create solutions.
External representation
- Lead and raise Fidelity’s profile as a leader in sustainable Investment
- Act as Fidelity’s spokesperson on ESG-related matters and represent Fidelity on various ESG-related associations, shareholder meetings, industry conferences, events and respond to technical public consultations.
- Act as a thought leader on ESG topics and prepare written material as required for public consumption by editorial and communication
- Contribute to Fidelity’s enterprise and product level sustainability reporting

Experience and Qualifications Required
- Substantial experience of working within and/or leading ESG teams
- Experience in creating sustainable investment solutions for different asset classes and investment objectives
- Subject matter expert in various ESG themes with ability to articulate investment-relevant insights and research
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent writing and drafting skills, communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and strong appreciation for providing supporting analysis
- Ability to form relationships, be credible with and influence senior Fidelity management and external parties
- Team oriented with a creative and innovative mind-set
- Flexible with a “can do” attitude, proactive and comfortable with ambiguity
