The Architecture & Integration Team is responsible for the design, development, manufacturing and maintenance of laboratory test means (LTM) within the Systems Integration Test perimeter. The team is transnational with elements present in Toulouse, Hamburg, Bremen and Filton. The scope of LTM’s covered includes:

  • Virtual Platforms
  • Functional Integration Benches/System Integration Benches
  • Type 0 means (e.g. LG 0) representative of the aircraft
  • Ad-hoc test benches for various purposes (e.g. rapid prototyping)

We are looking for someone who is motivated to kickstart their engineering career by undergoing a graduate programme in the aviation industry. In this role, you will design, develop and test electrical & mechanical solutions for our test benches.

As a member of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of the Architecture & Integration Team’s mission, with typical tasks including:

  • Support electrical and mechanical design teams to improve the sustainability profiles of test benches
  • Assist in defining Sustainability design objectives
  • Providing input on Life Cycle Assessments, Eco-Design Assessments, and the evolving compliance landscape
  • Directly supporting the development and maintenance of the test benches and other testing needs
  • Support projects seeking to promote new hardware technologies
  • Collaborate and provide sustainability subject matter knowledge in R&D projects focused on development of new technologies to improve the sustainability of test benches
  • Innovate new features for test benches (e.g. Test bench interconnection, Predictive health monitoring)

Your development journey will also include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into this position.

At the end of the two year development programme you will have developed into the position of Sustainable Design Engineer!

What we are looking for

To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, we ask that you demonstrate you have:

  • Educated to a Master’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a Scientific based subject
  • Understanding of circular economy and the life cycle of products and how certain design choices affects these
  • Excited by technical challenges and problem solving, and driven to deliver
  • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
  • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation.
  • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

Desirable Skills:

  • Interest in technology design and assessment
  • Understanding of technology and associated operational environmental impact
  • Basic understanding or strong aptitude to learn/understand sustainability related policies, regulations, standards, and literature
  • Good understanding of the circular economy’s impact on sustainable engineering
  • Ability to influence decision making and gain support across diverse teams
