ABM UK, a leading provider of facility service solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Compliance Manager to join our team. As the Sustainability Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations align with relevant sustainability regulations and standards. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable practices, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement in our sustainability initiatives. This is a critical role in our organization, contributing to our goal of creating a greener and more sustainable future.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain sustainability policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulations covering the UK & Ireland activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current sustainable practices and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations and standards
  • Conduct regular sustainability audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable initiatives
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on sustainability practices and compliance requirements
  • Prepare and present reports on sustainability performance and compliance to senior management and clients
  • This is a UK & Ireland role and thus some travel may be asked (team meetings) and possible overnights, but this is expected to be minimal.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience in a sustainability reporting environment, 2 of which as submission lead.
  • Proven experience in sustainability compliance management inclusive of Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting, Packing & Waste and Extended Regulations, ISO50001
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability regulations and best practices, inclusive of the greenhouse gas protocol.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 

DESIRED

  • Qualification related to carbon counting aligned to greenhouse gas protocol.
