Overview
At Alliance Homes, we’ve made great strides in decarbonising our homes, helping to improve comfort for residents, tackle fuel poverty, and make heating bills more affordable. More than 85% of our homes have an energy efficiency rating of EPC band C or above and we’ve recently secured a Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund allocation that will support our target to upgrade all our housing stock to this standard by 2030. A third of our existing homes are fitted with PV panels, while our new build properties are equipped with sustainable heating alternatives like air source heat pumps, and designed to be highly energy efficient (including to Passivhaus standard). Recently, we were granted bronze status by SHIFT, the social housing sustainability accreditation scheme, underlining our commitment to continuously measure and improve our sustainability performance.
What you’ll do
While we’re proud of our achievements, we know there is a lot more to do. That’s why we’re looking for a motivated Sustainability Manager to help us achieve our ambition of becoming a greener organisation, benefitting our customers, colleagues and the environment.
As Sustainability Manager, you will work with our Asset Strategy and Planned Investment teams to deliver our asset decarbonisation plans, while developing a sustainability strategy for our homes and business infrastructure and leading on its implementation.
You’ll also have the opportunity to review and improve our ESG reporting and use of grant funding.
If you’re passionate about housing and sustainability, this is your chance to join an agile and diverse organisation and make a positive difference to our customers and the environment.
What we’re looking for
As an expert in sustainability, energy programmes and carbon reduction, you will have experience of designing strategies that help organisations to achieve their goals.
Ideally, you’ll have experience within the social housing sector, or a deep understanding of energy performance and carbon reduction risks and requirements.
An effective communicator and accomplished leader, you will be able to maximise our teams’ potential through coaching and upskilling, alongside advocating for the environment.
Why choose us?
Join an agile and diverse organisation where you can leave your mark on our environmental journey. Be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and making a positive impact.
We want you, to be you
Alliance Homes is committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of our customers and communities. We’re creating a values-led culture and want to build a truly inclusive workplace, where all our colleagues have opportunities and are celebrated for making a real difference.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of talented individuals who can help us reach this goal.
We are Disability Confident Leader and guarantee that any individual with a disability will get an interview if they match all the essential criteria for the role.
We want you to have every opportunity to showcase your talents so please let us know if there is anything we can do to make the recruitment process work for you (adjustments due to a disability e.g dyslexia, times of the day to avoid due to childcare or caring responsibilities to name a few).
Here, you can work where and how you choose*. It’s about outputs rather than time spent in the office. You can work from one of our hubs, your home, or by connecting to a hotspot if you’re out and about.
We’ve created flexible workspaces where everyone is welcome and invested in technology so you can log in anywhere and anytime and take control of your work/life balance.
Our head office in Portishead is situated by the Marina, with free parking and within easy walking distance to high street shops, coffee bars, restaurants, and several supermarkets. The offices are newly refurbished offering a modern ‘agile’ and collaborative working environment.
If you need any support with your application, please call 03000120120 or email askhr@alliancehomes.org.uk and we will be happy to help.
