Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how GSK communicates its environmental sustainability programme. You will lead impactful communication strategies that highlight GSK’s commitment to climate and nature, and how that links to human health and business value, engaging internal and external audiences. Collaboration is key—you’ll work with cross-functional teams, including communications, sustainability, procurement, manufacturing, to deliver clear, engaging, and inclusive messaging.

You will also play a key role in bringing external perspectives into the organisation, monitoring the evolving sustainability and stakeholder landscape to identify emerging risks and opportunities, helping shape sustainability communications, positioning and policy.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about driving change, skilled in storytelling, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver sustainability communications and campaigns for internal and external audiences.
  • Translate technical sustainability topics into clear, accessible messages and content.
  • Advise senior leaders and spokespeople on media, presentations and stakeholder communications.
  • Monitor the external sustainability landscape, identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities, and bring actionable insights into the business.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and with key external partners to align messaging and priorities.
  • Manage content calendars, stakeholder engagement and delivery with cross-functional teams.
  • Use performance metrics and insights to set targets, optimise content and report progress.
  • Oversee production of written, visual and video assets and manage external agency partners.

Why you?

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, sustainability, environmental science, public policy or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant professional experience in corporate communications, sustainability communications or related roles.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience making complex topics easy to understand.
  • Experience managing multi-channel communications, including digital, social and internal channels.
  • Track record using analytics and insight to shape content and measure impact.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience coordinating cross-functional projects.

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience working in healthcare, life sciences or regulated industries.
  • Demonstrable experience in sustainability strategy communications or reporting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, reporting standards or corporate responsibility frameworks.
  • Experience in public affairs or media relations related to sustainability topics.
  • Strong understanding of the external sustainability landscape, including ESG, climate, nature and healthcare policy, and how these shape corporate reputation and business strategy.
