We are looking for a Stewardship and Sustainability Analyst to join the Investment Sustainability Solutions Team (ISST) in London. The ISST is a multidisciplinary group of sustainable investment professionals with expertise in sustainability data, stewardship and engagement, and sustainability policy and reporting. The team provides guidance and services to our investment teams and other key stakeholders across the firm through their sustainability subject matter expertise. They support the needs and priorities of our investment teams, and their clients, in their consideration and integration of sustainability within the investment process.
We are looking for a driven and talented individual with stewardship and analytical expertise to work across workstreams. You will have a primary focus on supporting our investment teams in their engagement and proxy voting efforts. You will also work closely with the ISST Data & Research team to develop tools and frameworks that enhance our understanding of sustainability-related investment risks and opportunities, with an initial focus on nature. In addition, you will partner with the ISST Policy & Reporting team on evolving regulatory and voluntary reporting requirements.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Stewardship & Sustainability Analyst?
- Support the development and maintenance of custom proxy voting guidelines in partnership with our investment teams
- Provide research & guidance on proxy voting issues, evolving regulation, and market trends
- Post proxy season voting analysis and evaluation of guideline alignment
- Support our investment teams in direct and thematic engagements
- Develop thematic engagement frameworks and best practice guidance on focus topics, in particular nature and human capital
- Collaborate with the ISST’s Data & Research experts to develop data driven frameworks and tools for assessing sustainability-related risks and opportunities
- Contribute to the production of the UK FRC Stewardship Code, UN PRI Assessment, TCFD Reporting and the proposal (RFP) content library in partnership with the ISST’s Policy & Reporting team
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial services or closely related
- Experience in or proven understanding of asset management, with a knowledge of multiple asset classes an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in stewardship including policies, procedures, market developments and proxy voting
- Understanding of sustainability-related risks, impacts, and opportunities as they relate to investments
- Understanding in particular of nature-related investment risks, impacts, and opportunities
- Track record of collaboration and ability to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a global hybrid-working team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with data analysis, with some coding experience preferred
