We’re looking for a Sustainability Officer to help deliver our new sustainability strategy and support colleagues across the Group as we work towards six key sustainability ambitions. This permanent, full-time South Wales based role offers flexible, agile working. You’ll report to the Sustainability Lead, collaborate with teams across the Group, and have opportunities to mentor junior colleagues as a go-to sustainability expert.

Where Does This Role Fit In?

As Sustainability Officer, you’ll take a key role in the Sustainability team. You’ll be working closely with colleagues from across the business, supporting them to implement our new sustainability strategy and driving meaningful positive change.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Analytical mindset – You enjoy working with numbers and can break down complex information and data with the ability to identify trends, patters and anomalies.
  • Attention to detail – You have a methodical approach and can handle data from multiple sources.
  • Communication skills – You can explain often complex technical arrangements and concepts clearly to a range of different stakeholders.
  • Confidence to challenge information – You’re not afraid to question data and make sure things are correct and make sense.
  • Proactive, solutions focused mindset – You enjoy tacking complex challenges and able to work independently to develop practical impactful solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects – You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously managing expectations and ensuring key deadlines are met.
  • Relevant qualifications – A relevant sustainability related qualification would be beneficial.

What are the pay and benefits?

Time off and Flexibility 

  • Hybrid role based in Cardiff, Newport, or Swansea. Your role will involve working throughout South Wales.
  • Working days are predominately Monday to Friday, option to work compressed 9 day fortnight
  • 26 days holiday, plus Bank holidays. Rising to 31 days with an extra day for each full year of service.
  • Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks
  • Paternity Leave: 3 weeks

  • The exact salary is £39,722 for a 37 hour, full time permanent position
  • Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or, Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
