Overview
This role will work for the Sustainability Manager in support of our contract’s delivery, reviewing works and processes across internal departments to assess environmental impacts, material circularity efficiency, and biodiversity recording, to provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve VINCI’s and our client’s adaptation and mitigation activities.
Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct environmental and waste audits across facilities and operations.
• Evaluate compliance with environmental legislation, circularity and waste regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in environmental and material circularity/ waste systems.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Produce monthly and annual reports on environmental and material circularity/ waste data.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
• Collaborate with site and project managers to align audit outcomes with strategic goals at site and project level.
• Review and report on the recording and tracking of material and waste generation trends across the business in order to drive down waste creation, improve material reuse and deliver cost reductions.
• Manage and maintain relationships with supply chain stakeholder leads to enable continuous improvement in waste reduction, material reuse and reporting.
• Develop audit tools, checklists, and performance indicators under the direction of the Sustainability Manager and with support of the wider business sustainability and environmental teams.
• Support training and awareness programs based on audit findings to improve business delivery and reporting.
• Management environmental incident reporting, and providing response advice in line with company procedures.
• Track and report on environmental, biodiversity and waste performance metrics.
• Review existing processes and procedures to provide advice to project and FM sites that:
? Supports the identification of opportunities for carbon reduction in projects.
? Enable technical support on sustainability, waste and community projects.
? Facilitate improved supply chain engagement in material and waste reporting that ensures performance.
? Identify legislation areas that may affect our operations/enable new products and guidance materials.
• Working with VINCI plc to benchmark biodiversity and develop new projects and services through:
? Supporting the delivery and reporting on existing and new biodiversity projects.
? Supporting the delivery of site ecology reports and site habitat surveys.
? Supporting the development of guidance documents and case studies.
• Where required liaise with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to enable both internal and external audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in sustainability and resource efficiency.
• Support the development, delivery and capture of Social Value initiatives.
• Promotion and disseminating of innovations relating to your areas of expertise across the region.
• Offer technical advice and assist to new and existing clients across the VINCI network.
