Overview
As a member of the central sustainability team, you will lead and project manage high profile Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures and ratings submissions, liaising across functions and with external ratings providers to ensure Anglian Water’s sustainability performance is accurately represented and transparent.
You will drive our ESG data strategy and disclosures (e.g., SFDR, GRESB, PAS 808, ISSB), digest and manage complex requirements, and bring strong research and analytical skills to guide best practice reporting, data quality and continuous improvement across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Project manage key ESG disclosures and maturity assessments (e.g., SFDR, GRESB, PAS 808); gather evidence with business leads and assure data quality.
- Digest external requirements; provide recommendations and ensure website disclosures mirror obligations.
- Lead the ESG data disclosures with a cross functional team; collate feedback/scores and highlight strengths and gaps.
- Provide reporting/analytics across sustainability; presenting findings and improvement recommendations.
- Research emerging practices; prepare papers on risks/opportunities; deliver project/process improvements for efficient reporting.
- Coordinate sustainability inputs to corporate reports (Integrated Report, Sustainable Finance Impact Report) and presentations as needed.
What does it take to be successful?
- Degree in a sustainability-related topic or equivalent experience
- Data fluent with excellent technical/quantitative skills; advanced Excel and strong database/process discipline.
- Analytical, problem solving mindset with a methodical approach and high attention to detail.
- Collaborative communicator able to articulate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Inclusive stakeholder engagement; able to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Continuous improvement mindset; monitors best practice ESG reporting.
- Experience adapting to changing deadlines/priorities.
- Proven organisational skills in a team environment.
- Experience managing complex sustainability submissions for ratings/indices.
