As a Sustainability Advisor at Guide Dogs, you’ll enable the implementation and tracking of our Environmental Sustainability programme. The Sustainability Advisor will be an expert at gathering, managing and maintaining accurate records on Environmental Social Governance (ESG) data, internal tracking and external reporting. This role plays a huge part in ensuring everything we do enables us to deliver on our purpose and exceed expectations.
This role is predominantly home-based, with regular weekly visits to our Guide Dogs sites and supplier meetings. Travel will vary from week to week, with some weeks requiring a couple of days travel and others involving a full week of working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the statutory and voluntary sustainability compliance reporting including climate risk, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) and GLA annual reporting.
- Responsible for gathering, management and maintaining accurate records on Environmental Social Governance (ESG) data internal tracking and external reporting.
- Provide commentary for publication in the annual sustainability report and Guide dogs annual report.
- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to contribute to the formation of Guide Dog’s sustainability strategy to include growing the understanding of our organisational carbon footprint, delivery of our sustainability strategy, net zero strategy and reduction roadmap.
- Responsible for registration, liaising with Ofgem and data submissions to Government Portal including liaising with Facilities for generation of supporting documents regarding RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) scheme.
- Demonstrable experience supporting solar and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure and other emerging sustainability technologies.

Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrable experience managing large volumes of data, analysing for trends as well as creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets.
- Demonstrable experience within a previous sustainability role, strong experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong understanding of reporting frameworks specifically: Climate Risk, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and Streamlined Energy Carbon Reporting (SECR).
- Advanced Excel and data management skills to include ability to accurately review and interrogate data identifying patterns and anomalies as well as convert into usable information for the organisation and external mandatory reporting requirements.
