Overview
NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Sustainability Advisor to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
The Sustainability Advisor will lead on the management of sustainability data and drive performance across the business. The trends and opportunities that the role identifies will be integral to ensuring that NHS Supply Chain is able to achieve its sustainability goals, as defined within its sustainability strategy. The role will support the Sustainability Managers and Head of Sustainability with projects and programs of work to deliver the Net Zero and Social Value ambitions across SCCL and all Service Providers.
Duties:
- Ensure the delivery and development of the sustainability policy, and compliance with legislation and regulations across a wide range of diverse projects.
- Monthly performance reports, analysing trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Constantly scanning for key environmental risks, such as carbon impact, waste and impact to local government.
- Current workstreams include those related to social value; sustainable procurement; decarbonisation; and sustainability data management. Other focus areas include circular economy; equality, diversity and inclusion; and corporate governance.
- Provide sustainability advice, guidance and support to colleagues in the preparation of tenders and delivery of projects, with a focus on contracted environment and social sustainability requirements.
