Join our growing Sustainability Advisory team at Buro Happold and help deliver transformative outcomes for clients and the built environment across public and private sectors. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in its early start-up phase, with the chance to grow your own portfolio and influence the direction of our UK Advisory offering.

This role is intended to provide strategic sustainability consultancy to a range of public and private sector clients, particularly around direct (end-user) engagements for sustainability, climate adaptation, and resilience advisory services.

Key duties:

Client delivery & commercial management

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of client assignments as key client contact.
  • Manage client satisfaction, scope changes, and challenges.
  • Quality assure deliverables and monitor commercial performance (resourcing, change control, invoicing, issue management).
  • Operate as a trusted advisor for our clients.

Business development & market presence

  • Manage and develop an active sales pipeline (leads, opportunities, proposals).
  • Lead account management and bids, focusing on storyboarding and commercial elements.
  • Lead proposition development and capability growth.
  • Build Buro Happold and Advisory exposure within chosen markets.

Leadership, Coaching & Team Development

  • Manage performance, development, and progression of team members.
  • Ensure wellbeing and motivation of assignment teams.
  • Lead Advisory people projects and collaborate across geographies/disciplines.

Your skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in sustainability advisory, ideally with exposure to climate resilience consulting.
  • A strong consulting background (boutique, big four etc).
  • Prior experience working with clients in asset-intensive sectors.
  • Experience in Public Sector and Infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Strong client relationship-building skills (existing networks are a plus).
  • A seller/doer mindset with a passion for business development.
  • Ambition to grow a capability, team, and shape our advisory offering.
  • Ability to build and manage engagement teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
