As a Junior Consultant working across our Energy and Sustainability pods, you will play a hands-on role in helping businesses understand and reduce their energy use and carbon impact. You will support customer projects across both areas, with the balance shifting through the year according to business need, from energy data analysis and compliance work to carbon footprinting and reporting.

This is an entry point into sustainability consulting and a chance to build broad technical foundations across two disciplines. You will learn from experienced consultants, deliver work that customers value, and start developing the commercial awareness and customer relationships that grow a junior into a trusted advisor.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of ESOS and other energy compliance projects, alongside carbon footprinting and reporting work such as SECR and GHG Protocol reporting.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret energy and carbon data, turning findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Assist in preparing customer reports and presentations, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Work closely with senior consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes and build lasting customer relationships that support retention.
  • Notice and flag opportunities to extend or deepen our support to customers during delivery, passing these to the relevant colleague.
  • Support proposals, quotes and scoping when needed, and contribute to marketing or thought leadership content.
  • Share ideas, learning and feedback with colleagues to help improve our services and processes.

Required:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in energy, environmental science, engineering, sustainability or a related field.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for site work, sometimes involving overnight stays.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow across both energy and sustainability consulting.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ESOS, SECR or other energy and carbon compliance schemes.
  • Familiarity with the GHG Protocol or carbon footprintng.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency technologies or building services.
  • Previous experience (e.g. placement, internship or graduate role) in energy, sustainability or consultancy.
  • Confidence engaging with customers and building relationships.
