ABP Kingswinford is part of the ABP UK division within the ABP Food Group aiming to provide quality lamb to thousands of customers across the world.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental & Sustainability Officer at our Kingswinford site.
Working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (a degree of flexibility is required).
Details about this role:
You will play a key part taking responsibility for the environmental & sustainability performance of our site at Kingswinford and ensure compliance with British and EU environmental legislation. An excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take on an Environmental role, previous experience is preferred but we will support you in achieving further training.
Duties:

Always ensure compliance with legislation British/European and the site EA permit

Keep site up to date with current ISO 14001 standard

Lead and manage environmental projects and improvements
-
Manage along with site management team on all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental initiatives, conservation and energy and water efficiencies

Complete and submit weekly, bimonthly and annual ISO 14001 reports

Liaise with the relevant bodies such as EA, SEPA, Water and local authorities, and public bodies

Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to management and regulatory bodies
-
Actively contribute and work towards achieving the ABP Environmental Targets by 2030 with site management team

Implement best environmental practice

Prepare reports as required

Educate all staff on environment issues and responsibilities

Maintain group environmental management systems
-
Participate in environmental education and research
-
Support and drive the environmental community engagement activities such as tree planting
-
Take responsibility for all site relating to environmental spend
-
Overall management responsibility for the operation, efficiency and compliance of the on-site wastewater treat plant, include management of the wastewater treatment operator

Understand and report on the overall costs of utilities in the business

Skills:

Attention to detail

Strong IT skills within Microsoft Excel and Word

Prior knowledge of working with ISO 14001 system or other compliance systems such as ISO 45001 or 50001 preferred but not essential
