Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference? We’re recruiting for an Energy and Sustainability Officer. This is a fantastic chance to grow your career in sustainability.
Contractually based out of our Portsmouth office, this is a full-time permanent position working 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working. There may be some occasional travel required across our Hampshire offices.
As Energy and Sustainability Officer, you’ll work closely with senior colleagues across the Energy and Sustainability team, providing project, data and delivery support across several key programmes. This will include supporting the Retrofit Programme Manager by collecting and analysing data to identify and prioritise homes for inclusion within the retrofit programme, undertaking energy investment modelling to determine appropriate energy efficiency and renewable measures, helping to shape and oversee the customer engagement strategy, and monitoring and reporting on programme progress and improvements in energy performance.
You’ll maintain accurate project and programme trackers, support and oversee delivery by resolving issues and risks, and take clear notes and minutes where formal records are required. In supporting the Sustainability Programme Manager, you’ll collate monthly carbon reporting data, contribute to the delivery of the Energy and Sustainability Strategy by working with the supply chain to identify and implement opportunities to capture and reduce Scope 3 emissions, assist with biodiversity enhancement projects and EV chargepoint delivery plans, and prepare grant funding applications for environmental improvements.
You’ll also support the Energy Manager by analysing utilities cost, consumption and carbon emissions across approximately 1,500 landlord energy supplies and identifying opportunities to decarbonise existing heat networks and communal heating systems.
We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual with a genuine interest in sustainability and energy management, strong analytical thinking and a confident approach to working with data. You’ll be comfortable using Microsoft IT systems with good excel skills and experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. You’ll have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.
We’re committed to diversity and inclusion, and want people from all walks of life to apply for our vacancies.
