Overview

This is an exciting time to join the college as we invest in growing and raising the profile of our Apprenticeship offer. You will find yourself joining a supportive team environment that is committed to giving our apprentices and learners the best experience possible to enable them to work competently and confidently out in industry.

Education apprenticeships are an area the college has a desire to grow, supporting a progression pathway onto Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. We are seeking candidates with experience in an education setting, with a desire and ability to encourage, motivate and inspire people. Whilst previous experience in a Trainer role or similar is desirable, it is not essential as we have an excellent training and development programme to help you make the transition into education, so that you can help shape the next generation.

As a Trainer you will be an expert in your field and will have responsibility for a range of learners within your subject specialism for their period of training. You will plan and undertake activities in the workplace in liaison with both the employer and apprentice(s), and in line with their job role. This will include planning for learning and undertaking assessment of practical skills in their work environment.

You will set and mark sector-based work that enables learners to make progress in their specialist field and provide effective feedback to support their development. You will build positive working relationships with employers to ensure the programme is tailored to the individual learner and their employment, and provide advice and guidance relating to their chosen career path.

Due to the nature of this role access to personal transport is essential in order to travel to students’ workplaces.  If using your own vehicle, it is a requirement for your car insurance to cover business use and evidence of this will be requested by finance before any travel claims are paid.
