Overview
Zemo Partnership is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the leading the transition to net zero transport. The organisation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join its Sustainable Business Team who lead innovative sustainable fuel supply chain certification schemes in the UK and internationally. The schemes cover road transport, motorsports, aviation and marine markets.
Reporting to the Director of Sustainable Business, this role would suit a proactive individual with experience in decarbonising transport, sustainable fuels and voluntary sustainability schemes. The successful applicant will be a competent programme manager and effective communicator, able to build strong business relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
This is a unique and varied role, the responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Managing the delivery of Zemo’s sustainable fuel certification schemes including road transport, motorsports and aviation markets.
- Overseeing and co-ordinating scheme auditors.
- Providing support and guidance to companies at different stages of certification.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders based in the UK and internationally, including regulatory bodies, fuel, chemical and feedstock producers, vehicle manufacturers and end users.
- Leading pilot programmes to expand and evolve existing schemes.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement and promotional activities to raise awareness about new and existing schemes.
The successful candidate will hold a University degree in environmental sciences, chemistry, engineering or a related scientific field, along with being able to demonstrate:
- Previous professional experience related to one of more of the following areas: low carbon fuels, transport decarbonisation, sustainability.
- Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks supporting advanced biofuels, renewable fuels of non-biological origin, recycled carbon fuels across different transport modes.
- A proven track record in programme management and stakeholder engagement within SMEs and large corporates.
- Excellent communication and written skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with scheme members.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
Whilst not essential but desirable, we would like to hear from any individual that has knowledge of chain of custody and supply chain traceability certification schemes for fuels, feedstocks and chemicals, such as ISCC-EU/PLUS and/or professional experience in carbon and sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
The position is offered on a part-time (minimum three days a week) and full time basis. The Sustainable Business Team are hybrid working, either at our Westminster offices or combined with working from home.
The remuneration for this role is based on experience, with the salary range being £44,000 to £54,000 FTE gross per annum, based on a Monday to Friday, 37½ hours per week. The role is subject to a six month probationary period. Benefits of working at Zemo are:
