Overview

As a Sustainability Data Engineer (Solution Architect), you’ll be a critical bridge between the Global Data Team, field teams, subject matter experts, and partnership managers — enabling transparent, sustainable supply chains for clients committed to traceability. You’ll translate organisational needs into scalable data solutions, both internally and with external partners, while helping build reliable, high-quality data processes that support data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering data needs from internal teams and translating them into clear technical requirements
  • Designing, implementing, and improving data processes end-to-end — from structure and collection to transformation, storage (ETL), analysis, and visualisation
  • Building robust, scalable data solutions for new commodities, products, and services
  • Managing and integrating existing database systems and workflows
  • Leading data projects and managing relationships with external partners, including database implementations and process reviews
  • Contributing to dashboards, data analysis, and the exploration of new tools and technologies (e.g. automation, AI) to strengthen the team’s data capabilities

About you

You’re driven by a genuine desire to create positive impact for people and the planet, and you see technology and data as powerful levers to get there. You care about getting things right – not because someone told you to, but because you take pride in your work and feel responsible toward the people and places your data ultimately serves. Precision matters to you, and so does integrity: you’d rather flag a flaw than let it slide, and you hold yourself to the same standard you expect of others.

You ask “why” before “how.” Complex systems draw you in rather than intimidate you, and you’re comfortable moving between technical depth and the bigger picture. That curiosity keeps you humble – you welcome being challenged if it makes the work better, and you’re not afraid to speak up or ask questions. You also bring a creative streak to problem-solving: you’re drawn to elegant, well-crafted solutions over generic ones, and you enjoy putting your own thoughtful stamp on the systems you build.

You’re dependable in a way people notice: if you’ve committed to something, it gets done thoughtfully and thoroughly. You move easily between independent focus and teamwork, sharing what you know and learning readily from others. Above all, you want your work to matter – turning care into systems that are reliable, transparent, and genuinely useful.
