Are you passionate about supporting residents to live in warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient homes?
We are seeking a dynamic Sustainability Officer to work on the development, implementation and reporting of projects relating to sustainability, domestic energy efficiency and fuel poverty. This will include the development of bids, accountability of funding streams and control of delivery mechanisms. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our grant funded programmes across Norfolk and will take a leading role in reporting to our funders on programme progress and completion.

You will be an integral member of the team delivering domestic retrofit solutions for residents most in need across Norfolk. You will undertake key operational requirements that will strengthen and showcase the work delivered by the Norfolk Warm Homes team. The role will support in facilitating improvement work that has a meaningful positive impact on the lives of the residents we help. Providing support in reducing energy use and bills, improving internal warmth and comfort, and providing healthier and more affordable homes for those most in need.

What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement projects which incentivise households to uptake retrofit improvements and progress sustainability, energy efficiency and fuel poverty objectives to cost, quality and time, including identifying external funding opportunities, coordinate, prepare and submit bids.
- Undertake communication strategy development and lead generation activities for schemes. Arranging presentations and attendance at public events to promote energy efficiency, affordability, and healthier conditions in residential homes.
- To work cross-functionally alongside internal and external stakeholders, working to ensure coordinated projects that achieve best outcomes in this service area.
- Undertake reporting to the relevant managers and funding providers on projects and schemes. Collate all relevant data, liaising with project partners to complete monthly and quarterly reports. Ensure financial transactions relating to installations provide a clear audit trail for project closure requirements.
- Provide regular updates to management and project stakeholders, detailing analysis, solutions, and status of progress against project key performance indicators and budgets.
You must have
- Degree level education OR equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in grant funded programmes, or similar funding environment, in a constantly changing environment.
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills, including experience of providing quantitative and qualitative reports to internal and external parties.
- Experience in the, environmental, energy efficiency and domestic retrofit sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with managers, funders and key Stakeholders.
- Experience in customer service, with the ability to provide accurate and consistent information to funders, managers, and members of the public on complex technical information relating to Retrofit programmes.
- A flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
