Are you passionate about reducing environmental impact and driving meaningful change across supply chains? We’re looking for a Sustainable Supply Chain Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering our sustainability ambitions.
As part of our forward-thinking Environment & Sustainability team, you’ll work alongside specialists in carbon, nature recovery, and sustainability reporting—all united by the goal of delivering long-term, positive environmental outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this influential role, you will:
- Support the delivery of our organisation-wide sustainability strategy and ensure key targets are met.
- Lead sustainability engagement across our supply chain, acting as the main point of contact for partners.
- Be responsible for carbon reduction of Scope 3 emissions; working with our partners to understand and reduce their impact on the environment.
- Help drive our transition toward a more circular economy.
- Support the management and continual improvement of our Environmental Management System and associated accreditations.
- Undertake whole lifecycle carbon assessments to inform design and maintenance specifications.
- Work closely with procurement colleagues to embed sustainability into all relevant activities.
- Reduce single-use plastics across construction and maintenance.
- Analyse waste data, set reduction targets, and champion responsible waste management.
- Conduct research, trial new approaches, and contribute to our organisational thought leadership.
- Stay on top of sector trends, legislation, and emerging best practice.
This role is home based with an expectation to travel to Coventry and/or Reading once a month.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a sustainability, supply chain, or construction-related role.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulation.
- Experience carrying out lifecycle assessments and knowledge of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
- Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Scope 3 emissions reporting.
- Understanding of the environmental impacts of building and construction.
- Proven ability to work across departments and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with suppliers.
- Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and working independently.
- High standard of verbal, written, and numerical skills.
- Ability to chair meetings and present information clearly.
- Relevant environmental qualification (or working towards one) is desirable.
