Overview
Supporting the delivery of River Island Sustainability Strategy, by promoting central visibility of the Supply base, including supplier reporting; KPI’s; product mapping; research and analysis.
Co-ordinating the new supplier and factory onboarding process- working closely with the sustainability, technical and buying Teams.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain and update supplier reports, information and records.
- Support the team by arranging meetings, events, and other departmental activities.
- Key point of contact for New Supplier and Factory Onboarding Process (Buyers, Technical, Logistics, Finance as well as Suppliers)
- Prepare documents using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office. Also responsible for gathering, collating and summarising data for departmental reports.
- Data analysis to support the specific project and programme deliverables. (e.g. reading and grading ethical audit reports)
- Gather and review transparency data communicating directly with suppliers, factories and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Sustainability team in the delivery of projects and programmes.
- Interaction with key internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate both internally and externally on current sustainability issues.
- Build strong relationships with River Island internal stakeholders such as Buying, and Technical, Shipping, Accounts, Finance and in-country partners; as well as external stakeholders, such as other sustainability groups and our suppliers.
- Working with the sustainability team to ensure that key data is always maintained and is up to date.
- High School / FE College (2 A Levels).
- Computer literate using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook & other IT Systems to a high level.
- Basic experience of simple office environment / basic operational systems (4 to 6 months) preferred.
- Qualification in an environmental or sustainable field would be an advantage.
- A basic understanding and passion for social and environmental sustainability.
- A team player with a strong drive to achieve
- Good problem solving, data handling and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritise, plan, organise and review activities to meet set deadlines and departmental goals.
- Clear and effective communication skills along with an ability to interact effectively with individuals and teams at all levels within the business.
- Methodical and thorough approach to work
- Proactive and able to demonstrate initiative by suggesting ways of improving current working methods
- Identifies what needs to be done and acts quickly. Shows optimism and enthusiasm that affects others positively.
- Ability to carry out research on key topics and prepare basic reports and presentations to highlight the key findings of this research.
- Have a good understanding of Data Manipulation using functions, formulas in Microsoft office spreadsheet
