Overview
As a consultant, you will be responsible for delivering sustainability consulting services to occupiers of commercial real estate, including some of the world’s largest and most ambitious organisations. You will lead and deliver agreed strategic sustainability projects across our business, supporting clients to integrate sustainability into their real estate decisions and operations. You will deliver high‑quality, commercially focused sustainability advice, build strong and trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, and help organisations achieve meaningful environmental, social and resilience outcomes through their property portfolios.
You will join teams delivering account, project or technical services to clients.
What you’ll do:
• Sustainability Delivery: Deliver high-quality projects, develop your skills, and achieve business performance targets.
• Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for business growth.
• Performance Excellence: Manage services to meet the agreed client outcomes and the commercial targets we have set for the work.
What you’ll need:
• A natural collaborator, able to foster and maintain relationships, both internally and externally.
• Proactively seeks responsibility and opportunity to broaden and deepen both technical and non-technical skills.
• Experience working with Occupiers to manage sustainability risks and opportunities across their real estate portfolios. Ideal Candidate would have existing sustainability consultancy experience or direct/hands-on experience from within corporate sustainability teams, with an ability to provide strategic advice.
• Sustainability knowledge across the property lifecycle, including some of the following technical competencies:
o Sustainable transactions, including site selection & due diligence processes, and green leasing;o Sustainable development, design and fit-out, including knowledge of green building certifications such as BREEAM and WELL.o Physical climate risk, including portfolio level analysis and site-level assessments.o Strategic Net Zero transition planning & energy and carbon analysis.o Comprehensive strategy support.
• Able to identify problems and issues and escalate in a simple and diagnostic way, while delivering excellent outcomes for the client:
• Able to communicate concisely, clearly and articulately; and demonstrates natural ability to adapt their style to the audience.
• Able to understand client and stakeholders’ expectations and be proactive and positive in their outlook and find solutions to problems as they arise. Is action focused and practical in their approach for themselves and others.
• Demonstrates and adopts a commercial / business approach in delivering financial outcomes, including knowledge of key CBRE processes and tools, and able to translate this into practice in how they deliver the work they undertake for clients.
• Has a few years’ experience in Sustainability within the Real Estate sector, understands the business and commercial drivers for occupier real estate clients and is able to demonstrate that experience when engaging with clients.
• Demonstrates a willingness to broaden and deepen technical skills across Sustainability Advisory’s key areas of client delivery, responding to varying client and market demands.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong attention to detail.
