We believe that by identifying and assessing these factors as a core part of our investment process, and by ensuring that these issues are properly managed over the lifetime of our investments, we can create value for our clients and support more successful and sustainable businesses over the long term.

 

This position within the Sustainability & ESG Team would play a leading role in setting ICG’s sustainability strategy for our numerous asset classes and strategies, and work with investment teams to strengthen and embed our sustainability frameworks, tools, and practices into each respective investment approach. Additionally, the position would work with numerous functional teams to support ESG-related regulatory compliance, generate robust and accurate disclosures, and ensure transparent and effective communication regarding ICG’s position on certain sustainability topics.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

 

Deployment of ICG’s Sustainability strategy

  • Support the implementation of ICG’s sustainability and ESG frameworks across all asset classes/strategies
  • Support the establishment, monitoring and measurement of ESG KPIs and targets across specific strategies
  • Lead constructive dialogue with portfolio company management teams regarding sustainability matters, working to set goals on decarbonisation, DEI, human capital management, and other material ESG factors
  • Support the development of approaches to advance sustainability objectives in strategies with less influence and access to management (such as Private Debt/Credit, Secondaries, etc.)
  • Support public and investor sustainability reporting at corporate and fund level
  • Support ESG-related regulatory compliance and disclosures
  • Industry working group and other external engagement

 

Annual Performance Expectations

  • Taking ownership and accountability for the successful implementation of sustainability frameworks across several “assigned” strategies
  • Positive improvement on sustainability outcomes across the portfolio, as well as shared topical priority areas such as decarbonisation
  • Proactive contribution and collaboration with the team on defined priorities for the year

 

Key Requirements/ Qualifications

Within your broader experience, you will have demonstrable experience of at least 5/6 years+ in relevant sustainability and ESG roles in:

 

  • Private Equity, Private Credit, banking and/or asset management with exposure to private markets
  • Tier I Consulting firms; and/or
  • Other businesses or organisations which enable a good understanding of ESG practices within finance, and/or a good understanding of private markets and alternative asset management

 

The following experience will be considered a plus:

  • Design and/or implementation of climate and/or social impact fund frameworks
  • Industry working group leadership/participation focused on driving sustainability innovation and/or implementation of ESG-related regulation
  • Good understanding of investment decisions and monitoring processes
