Overview
The CS&R team works with the business to develop and deliver the Sustainability agenda and associated change programme, and also advise on the strategic corporate level approach. Alongside the production, assurance and publication of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) disclosures, this work involves the identification, assessment and management of sustainability risk, data collection for reporting, and the planning, coordination and capture of ESG initiatives happening across the business. We support Sustainability activities across multiple functions and markets, focussing on effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
About The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Lead Sustainability Business Analyst to join our Corporate Sustainability and Reporting team. This role is responsible for working with stakeholders across Dyson, to establish data requirements and drive the gathering of data, to allow for understanding and reporting of Dyson’s Environmental and Social impacts. This role will interface with cross-functional teams and will need to establish strong relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure that we deliver reporting effectively and efficiently.
As a Lead Sustainability Business Analyst you will be pivotal in providing clear direction for other members of the data team and business to follow. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued and will be willing to be flexible in activities taken on. There will be the opportunity to work across both Environmental and Social pillars and be involved in other aspects of the wider team.
This position reports to the Sustainability Analytics Manager and is based in Malmesbury, England.
You will:
- Responsible for capturing clear data requirements necessary for compliant sustainability reporting and informed business decisions.
- Work with ESG and Data experts to produce compliant reporting.
- Understand where key sustainability data resides, its current limitations and lead projects to improve the quality of data.
- Prepare and update Requirement Delivery Plans, monitoring and regularly communicating progress to team members, managers, and the department director.
- Lead stakeholder communication; foster strong, collaborative working relationships and act as a trusted ‘business partner’.
- Act as an internal consultant and SME to support decision-making. This may include providing recommendations based on data, process, ESG and Dyson knowledge.
- Drive a culture of continuous process improvement, optimisation and efficiency
- Define and implement data governance practices in addition to the controls necessary for data to comply with assurance requirements. Includes maintaining appropriate records, guidance materials and documentation.
- Work with others in the team to manage technical development of Dyson’s annual ESG reporting, including ensuring alignment with reporting frameworks and stakeholder expectations.
- Drive discussion around solution options and requirements (incl. business context, tech dependencies, constraints, risks, benefits and opportunities) involving all relevant stakeholders
About You
You will have:
- At least 3 years of experience in relevant roles
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in engaging and building relationships with stakeholders of varied seniority
- Persistence in pursuing problems until they are solved, with good judgement to raise appropriate questions and derive conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability develop deep content knowledge quickly.
- Experience in conducting workshops for Business Requirement Gathering Sessions and business process mappings.
- Ability to translate high level unstructured ideas and requests quickly into a structure and level of detail that can be easily impacted against existing solution capabilities and developed into detailed project plans.
- Familiarity of business intelligence roles (e.g. Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Quality Assurance, Data Architect) and their associated tools/concepts/activities (e.g. HLD’s ETL, visualisation tools and associated applications)
- Experience and high level of awareness of non-financial reporting and ESG standards and reporting frameworks a plus
- Additional skills in data tools a plus e.g. SQL, Tableau
- Additional skills in technology, finance, process, and ESG a plus
