Overview

As the site Energy Sustainability Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in managing sustainability processes within the brewery. This includes overseeing utilities such as water, energy, and waste, while driving our carbon emissions reduction plans. You’ll have the chance to work on a significant capital projects, contributing to meaningful, impactful changes and collaborating with various colleagues over investments made to enhance the brewing and production processes on site.

As the specialist, you’ll act as the main mentor and expert on sustainability, working across various departments and engaging with stakeholders to embed sustainable practices into our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental standards and local legislation.
  • Coordinating efforts to identify and reduce energy and water losses.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives across teams and departments.
  • Driving sustainability KPIs and ensuring they are achieved throughout the brewery.
  • Managing sustainability data to meet quality standards.
  • Engaging with external service providers and managing contracts.
  • Implementing Lean manufacturing techniques such as Visual Management, Poka- yoke, Kaizen to enhance efficiency.

You’ll be based in the Maintenance team focused on Utilities & Net Zero, whose job is to oversee the safe, efficient & sustainable running of the site’s essential services, utility systems (water, energy, and related plant) & supporting equipment.

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • 2+ years industrial experience within the field of Chemical, Water industries or practical experience as a process engineer or similar.
  • Knowledge of energy monitoring and reporting systems (e.g., Montage or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills to influence and engage teams effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to coach and support others.
  • A proactive approach to tackling challenges and driving results.
