Overview
As the Manufacturing Site Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for driving and embedding sustainability strategies and initiatives across the site. You will play a pivotal role in aligning the site’s operations with GSK’s global sustainability goals, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, and ensuring compliance with sustainability-related regulations and standards. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams, site leadership, and external stakeholders to deliver measurable progress toward GSK’s environmental goals, including net zero carbon emissions, water stewardship, waste reduction, and circular resource use.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- Considerable and proven experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related roles in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation programs.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and sustainability metrics (e.g., carbon footprint, energy intensity).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proactive problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
The following qualifications and skills would be advantageous:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as LEED, ISO 14001, or similar. - Experience working in the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, or related industries.
- Familiarity with circular economy principles and renewable energy technologies.
- Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD).
- Knowledge of GSK’s environmental goals and sustainability initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence organizational change and build a culture of sustainability.
