Overview

This Research Associate position will contribute to the LUCENT project within the Institute of Materials and Processes at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by EPSRC and in collaboration with colleagues at The University of Texas, Austin and CSIRO, Australia.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 36 months. In this project, the PDRA will have the opportunity to lead the development of novel photo-responsive microporous organic polymers for unlocking specific metal-metal separations without generating chemical wastes whilst powered by renewable energy.

  • Expertise in developing photo-responsive polymers and materials
  • Expertise in separation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, but in synergy with the rest of the interdisciplinary team
  • Aptitude for leading and driving the delivery of novel materials science to innovate chemical engineering
  • Willingness to learn new skills related and required for project
