Overview

We are looking for a VP to join our Sustainability Strategy team in London.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Sustainability Strategy for the EMEA region, aligned with Mizuho Financial Group Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero targets
  • Primary responsibilities focus on leading on data related projects, including the development of monitoring tools, and other internal initiatives to ensure the delivery of the strategy
  • Work closely with Mizuho EMEA’s risk and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Sustainability and Climate regulatory requirements for risk assessment, monitoring and disclosures. This includes horizon scanning as pertains to Sustainability and leading compliance readiness reviews, as well as risk assessments
  • Support the Head of Sustainability Strategy participation in the relevant Sustainability Committees / Forums / Working Groups, including supporting materials and action logs
  • Maintain awareness of market developments with ESG data, ratings and methodologies, sharing the information with the team
  • Maintain, update and develop ESG Dashboards and MI across Risk, Business and Operational aspects, and support with the development of related metrics and targets
  • Fosters knowledge and sharing of sustainability trends across the different Mizuho EMEA teams
  • Contribute to thematic research and analysis on sustainability trends

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
  • Sound knowledge of the Banking Industry
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL and other data tools are an asset
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience involving data analysis and project management
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Experience with stakeholder management
  • Understanding of risk management, including stress testing
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience managing an develop junior members of the team
